本文介绍全新的 VIA EPIA PD 系列 Mini-ITX主板。在 VIA EPIA CL 系列 Mini-ITX 主板的基础上,VIA EPIA PD 主板通过板载数字I/O 和 SMBus 增加了更多的功能。具有设计用于POS系统的四个 COM 接口和数字 I/O。其板载 VT6105 和 VT6103 以太网控制器完全适用于作为一个硬件防火墙系统。 该主板基于 VIA CLE266 芯片组，具有內嵌硬件 MPEG-2 加速器与整合的 S3 Graphics VIA UniChrome™2D/3D 图形控制器。其连接功能由六个 USB 2.0 接口、四个 COM 接口与兩个 10/100 Mbps 快速乙太网接口构成。 VIA EPIA PD还提供嵌入式 LCD 面板的支持。一条PCI插槽提供了附加的扩充能力。大记忆带宽的 DDR266 SDRAM 和 ATA-133 的高速数据传输速度提供了运行商业数字视频和音频应用的能力。 VIA EPIA PD符合 Mini-ITX 规格，尺寸只有17 cm x 17 cm，轻薄的结构使其更能节省空间。VIA EPIA PD主板可使用高效 VIA C3处理器或无风扇 VIA Eden ESP 处理器。其基于 X86 的平台使其兼容一系列软件，包括Microsoft® Windows® 和 Linux操作系统。
