ABB  Automation World 2008 focuses on productivity, energy usage

April 28, 2008 --  Automation World, the largest cutomer event hosted by ABB, will showcase technology, services and innovations to help industrial companies and utilities improve their productivity and energy usage. The three-day show runs through May 1 in Houston, Texas.

The event is designed for industrial power and automation industry end-users and decision makers. Some 2,500 customers, channel partners and ABB employees from each of the five divisions are expected to attend the conference and exhibition, which is among the largest single-company automation fairs in the world.

这项活动是专为工业电力和自动化工业的最终用户和决策者举办的。预计大约有2500名的客户、渠道合作伙伴和分别来自五个部门的ABB员工将出席本次会议和展览，这个世界上最大的由单个公司组织的自动化展会之一。

This year's event is focused on the potential of collaboration to speed up innovation, share expertise and development costs, and compete more effectively on global markets.

Automation World is an opportunity for industry professionals working in the electrical chain - from power generation to transmission to deployment of electricity into, and through, industrial and commercial plants, buildings and applications – to meet, see the latest automation technologies, and discuss with their peers the industry issues that concern them.

Workshops and Technical Training Tracks: This year attendees can choose to attend any number of the 350 workshops that have been scheduled. Topics range from industry issues, to free technical training, to customer case studies. Participants will learn about everything from the most recent direct-current transmission technology to how to meet seismic standards with drive controls for motors. The presentations will be made by ABB professionals as well as customers. Each workshop will include a question and answer portion.

Exhibits: ABB will showcase the latest automation technologies in its portfolio in the 40,000 sq. ft. exhibit hall during the three-day conference. In addition,  company’s technology partners will be exhibiting, so visitors can see how ABB works alongside vendors.

Business Forum: Senior managers from companies in the industries we serve will also attend. The forum focuses on their non-technical challenges, such as planning, procurement, maintenance and management activities, as well as on issues such as strategic planning, and trends in technology and the global economy.

A chance to network: The Customer Advisory Board and the Automation World Planning Committee have put considerable emphasis on creating opportunities to network. Evening events for each day of the show include a welcome reception and dinner, an exhibitor reception, and an offsite reception at nearby Minute Maid Park, home to the Houston Astros.
